How the immense waters of Noah’s Flood ran off the land forming features like canyons, flat mountain tops, and gigantic planed land surfaces along the way. In the regular Creation for Kids article in the fun and faith-building Creation Magazine @creationnews

Noah’s Flood covered the whole earth and took over a year to recede. The water receded off of higher lands into lower lands. The immensity of the water flowing over the earth’s surface during this phase can not be over-emphasized. It had the volume and power to plane flat areas as large as 1000 KM square.

As floodwaters receded below the highest lands, water began to flow increasingly in channels and these channels of water carved massive canyons and gorges. As water levels continually decreased, channels became more like rivers, but still immense in size, and these rivers carved water gaps and wind gaps between higher land surfaces. When we see rivers too small for their carved out valleys, we know the water flowing there must have been much, much larger, in the past.
