By the time this blog is published, I’ll have been playing Wii Sports Resort for a few days. I’m already hooked on the Air Sports game.
I didn’t even know the game was launching July 26 but I happened to be at Best Buy exchanging a USB drive and I couldn’t figure out why there was a small line up before opening time.
As it turns out, I exchanged my USB drive and picked up a copy of Wii Sports Resort as well.
The new Wii Motion Plus wiimote add-on is interesting and does seem to translate real-time motions decently enough. Enough to make it fun anyway.
One thing I’ve already thought about is that the locale, the resort island, is actually a pretty decent place to host a sort of massively-multiplayer online environment. I’m thinking of something like Sony’s Home. It’s an interesting island with many, many cool spots and secrets. If Nintendo plays their cards right they could really hit something big in the online space for the casual market. If you’re reading this Nintendo…patent pending!
Here’s the E3 launch video to give you a better idea of what it’s all about…
