When First Nations aren’t actually first nations, reality is distorted by language

Posted on May 24, 2026May 23, 2026 by Shovas

First Nations aren’t actually first nations

All the words we use wrongly imply these groups never migrated or supplanted one another

Wrong: First Nations, indigenous, aboriginal, native

Better: Earlier peoples, elder peoples, older peoples

Why does it matter?

Because language controls reality

And whoever controls language controls you

So language better be true
