SmarterEveryDay vs Veritasium: Laminar Flow or Turbulent Flow?

Posted on September 6, 2026August 7, 2026 by Shovas

In 2019, Christian YouTuber SmarterEveryDay did a video on smooth laminar flow and Atheist YouTuber Veritasium responded in 2020 with a video on chaotic turbulent flow

One appreciated the beauty and eloquence of laminar flow and the other appreciated the unpredictability and randomness of turbulent flow.

If you hadn’t watched these channels enough to know about the YouTubers, themselves, you wouldn’t have made the connection between their faiths and their preferences. But it was remarkably predictable based on that characteristic.

What was produced was vintage YouTube viewing and a sort of Rorschach test about what you see based on how you’ve been shaped.
