No Ordinary Sign
Jonah told sailors to sacrifice himself to calm the storm
Jesus told the storm, ‘be calm’
“The only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah.”
“No one takes my life away from me. I give it up of my own free will.”
No Ordinary Sacrifice
“I have the power to give it up and the power to receive it back again, just as my Father commanded me to do.”
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
No Ordinary Victory
“So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven… With his own blood…he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.”
“Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.”
No Ordinary Call
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did.”
“The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
No Ordinary Joy
“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
No Ordinary Perfection
“Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.'”
“There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
He who was seated on the throne said,
“I am making everything new!”
