Why I am still a vaccine realist

The following was originally a Twitter thread which I created for the purpose of distilling and citing my objections to the covid vaccine strategy.

My primary concerns are with rushed universal application instead of targeting vulnerable demographics. I am also concerned about the rushed nature of the vaccine and by government coercion that is manipulating proper informed consent of recipients.

  1. Rushed development
  2. No maker liability
  3. No approved vaccines (emergency authorization only)
  4. No long term data
  5. Very low risk for all but a few demographics
  6. Coercion by Charter violating laws

1. Rushed development

The number of adverse events after vaccination, from heart inflammation to death, indicates insufficient time was given to working out the side effects or at least documenting them for informed consent.

Any medicine with no long term data that is applied universally should be considered rushed by all reasonable people.

2. No maker liability

Covid vaccine manufacturers can not be held liable for non-negligent legal claims

3. No approved vaccines (emergency authorization only)

There are no US or Canada approved vaccines, only emergency authorized.

Canada is the same

^ This is our equivalent of the US’s ’emergency authorization’: “The interim order introduces temporary regulations to expedite the authorization for importing, selling and advertising COVID-19-related drugs without compromising patient safety.”

4. No long term data

Vaccines traditionally take a cautious long-term approach taking anywhere from 5-15 years to develop.

5. Very low risk for all but a few demographics

Even in the worst case scenario, a dense urban area (Toronto, Canada) and older age group (80+), 98.91% of the population do not need to be hospitalized.

6. Coercion by Charter violating laws

In Canada, our Charter is our constitutional rights and freedoms document, including the right to assembly, association, and travel between provinces and even in and out of the country.

Section 1 of the Charter acknowledges “reasonable limits prescribed by law” but with the caveat that “as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.” No ‘demonstrable justification’ has been officially or legally presented.
