C G Am G
A mighty Fortress is our God,
Am G C
A Bulwark never failing;
C G Am G
Our Helper He amidst the flood
Am G C
Of mortal ills prevailing:
C D G
For still our ancient foe
C D Am
Doth seek to work us woe;
Am D G
His craft and pow'r are great,
Am F E
And armed with cruel hate,
Am G C
On earth is not his e - qual.
Did we in our own strength confide,
Our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side,
The Man of God's own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is He;
The Lord of Hosts His Name,
From age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.
And though this world, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us;
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us:
The prince of darkness grim,
We tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure,
For lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly pow'rs,
No thanks to them a - bideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours
Through Him Who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go,
This mortal life also;
The body they may kill;
God's truth abideth still,
His Kingdom is for - ever.

God Bless.
thank you for giving such a wonderful treasure for us.thanks a lot.god shall provide you according to his will.bye
providing these will of course promote me to praise the Lord by singing with the voice he had gifted to me. please contribute more and more work
I have collected 95 different hymnals. In three of these (United Church in Canada, Metropolitan Church and one Presbyterian hymnal) the first line has no breath marks, fermatas, dotted rhythm or extra notes to allow people to catch a breath when they sing.
Fifteen other hymnals use one of these devices to help out.
Two of the hymnals have actually added an extra note to give the measure five beats so people can gasp for air!
thanks for all these hyms!
