D G
Crown Him with many crowns,
D G A
the Lamb upon His throne
D G E A
Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns
D E A
All music but its own
D G
Awake my soul and sing
E A
Of Him who died for Thee
D G A D
And hail Him as Thy matchless King
G A D
through all eternity

What a great worship song, thanks for posting!
These chords sound wonderful.
try putting a F#m on the fourth line above “music”. it really adds to it
nice song…………
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
You done great!
shouldn’t the 5 chord on ‘throne’ eg. be an A7
an Em chord on matchless (second to last line) gives the melody a bit of a kick as well.
Thank you for making my playing easier. I’m fairly self taught and was strugling with some chords. Your help here has opened a whole new world on what I can play at our Home Group
it sounds a lot better with a Bm on the first line above ‘many’
I think the whole idea here was to make the chords easily playable on the guitar–which was accomplished very well indeed. The actual hymn chord analysis is something much more complicated. For instance: the chords to the third line which begins, “Hark how…” are: A, D, A/C#, Bm, D, E, E/D, A/C#, E7/B, A, D, Esus, E7, & A. There are 45+ chord changes in each verse so reducing it to just over 20 while still preserving the musical integrity of the hymn was a wonderful simplification.
